Original footage
The high-quality source stays on the machine that already stores it. There is no need to upload the full original only to download a finished clip again.
ZoneClip is being designed so the largest and most sensitive asset in the workflow—the original gameplay recording—does not need to leave your machine. Model choice is moving in the same direction.
This is not a claim that the current beta is already fully offline. It is a clear direction: move processing under the creator’s control without giving up the option to use a faster hosted model when that is the better tradeoff.
Local-first does not have to mean one model, one machine, or one fixed level of performance.

AI decisions become an explicit edit plan, then the final MP4 is rendered against the local original at source quality.
Run compatible models locally, connect a self-hosted endpoint, or use a provider you already trust. The provider path should be visible and replaceable, not hidden inside the product.
| Workflow layer | Status | Boundary |
|---|---|---|
| Original high-quality footage | Current architecture | Kept on the creator’s machine. |
| Lightweight analysis proxy | Private beta path | May be uploaded to understand events and reactions. |
| Final high-quality render | Current architecture | Produced locally from the original source. |
| Compatible local models | Roadmap | Intended for analysis without metered cloud calls. |
| Self-hosted or custom provider | Roadmap | Intended to make the inference path user-selectable. |
ZoneClip Free is a real $0 plan, not a time-limited trial. It includes the core workflow for turning gaming VODs into social-ready clips. ZoneClip Pro will be an optional upgrade for creators who need more speed, scale, and control.
Local inference can also remove per-minute charges from a cloud model provider. It does not make hardware, electricity, storage, optional hosted services, or third-party API usage free. Exact Pro features, limits, and pricing have not been announced.
